Scholastic Book Fair: Dress up as your favourite character

We have the Book Fair in our school at the moment. This morning everybody came in as a favourite character from their favourite book. Everyone looked FANTASTIC! They made a really effort.

We we all went down to the Junior room to tell the little ones what everyone was. Then a few minutes later all the Senior Room read a little bit from their book that they dressed up as. The people who weren’t dressed up just read a little of their own book.

Everyone made a really good job at this. Great Work Everyone.😄✌️

Today we dressed up as our favourite character from our favourite books. Lots of people dressed up: there was Alice (from’Alice in Wonderland’), there was Anna (from ‘Frozen’) and many more!

I dressed up as Esmie from ‘The Mum Hunt + The Mum Detective’ This is the second book in a two part book.

The first book, ‘The Mum Hunt’ is about a girl called Esmie who’s mum had died when she was a baby.

Esmie signs her dad up for the Lonely Hearts ad in the paper, near the end her dad and a nice lady called Lizzie are a couple.

The second book is called The Mum Dectective, in that book, Esmie starts to get suspicious of Lizzie when she followed her to her work at the chemists’ one morning, to find that Lizzie doesnt even work there! Surely there is a good explanation for this! Isnt there?

I really enjoyed dressing up today, and everyone was really imaginative at picking their costumes.

This morning we most of us dressed up as our favourite character from a book. Every year a Book Fair come to our school. It helps us to buy some new books for the school.

Today, we had to dress up as our favourite character from a book. I dressed up as a player from the f2.

The f2 are YouTubers. They do unbelievable skills with famous footballers like Neymar Jr , Messi and Ranaldo.

Just before lunch we went down to the Junior  room to tell them what we were dressed as and about the characters. It was lots of fun and the best costume win a free book in the fair.

Leave no Trace (Step 1)

Today we learned about the ‘Leave No Trace’ programme at http://www.leavenotraceschools.org/  and how litter ruins the environment. We were working with a woman named Kirsten. We went into groups and made different animal shapes.

Then we went outside for a walk. We learned how long objects last before they biodegrade. A glass bottle will last forever and an apple core takes two months to biodegrade. I had a plastic cup and had to guess how long it would take to break down. Kirsten said that the cup would last for 250 years. It was really fun.

I enjoyed my time and I hope I could do it again. She gave us a pencil and a certificate. It was really fun.

#Maths Week 2016 (Step 4)

Bhí sport againn inniú nuair a bhíomar ag lorg cruthanna 2T agus 3T in ár dtimpeallacht.

To day we went to the yard finding shapes I found a sphere circle and we had to take picture on the iPads and put them up on the board. We did maths and I really enjoyed it.

Today went out to the yard to find some Angles,2D and 3D shapes it was fun running around looking for shapes. I found all different kind of things here are some different things I found.😄👆.

Today we went outside to find 2d and 3D shapes.

I found 4 ciorcals and 1 triantan and 1 cearnóg. Everyone in the class room got at least 3 shapes.

Today we went outside and took pictures of shapes in 2D, angles and 3D shapes. I found plenty of shapes like those in my pictures below. It was really fun and it’s been a really fun maths week!

Today we went out to the school yard to find 3D shapes and 2d shapes and angles I found two right angles and a sphere. It was lots of fun👍.

Today we were outside looking for shapes. We were all running around looking for shapes. I found a circle, a square, a rectangle, a triangle and a sphere. When we were done we made a picture with them on the iPads and Lipix.

Mayo for Sam 2016

On Sunday Mayo are in the All-Ireland Final. They are against The Dubs again. I am really excited and I have all the hope in the world for them (C’mon Lads)😄. They haven’t won the Sam Maguire since 1951. I am going to watch it in The Lighthouse Tavern with my friends. People always say they aren’t going to because of THE CURSE but I don’t believe in that I still think there going to win🎉. I predict that the score will be 2-10 MAYO and 1-10 DUBLIN. 🇮🇪😃

I hope Mayo wins the All-Ireland on Sunday.

The name of the cup is Sam Maguire.

I’m so excited about the match.

I’m watching it  in the pub.  Mayo are playing Dublin.

I think the score is  going to be 1goal15 points to Mayo &1goal12 points to Dublin.

The Mayo team are playing on Sunday for the Sam Maguire🏆 WOO HOO.

I have all the hopes in the universe.

Mayo are playing Dublin in the All-Ireland. Mayo won against Meath in 1951 which is 65 years ago. I SO excited I think I’m going to just POP!!!!. I am going to watch the match in Dooceys with my sister Ròisin, my cousin Shannon and my Aunty Sheila.

I predict the score WILL be 2-11 to 1-9. I hope to god that they win.

Big news! Mayo are in the All-Ireland final against the champions Dublin. It is going to be played in Croke Park. I am so excited. I don’t have a ticket but I think it will be better craic in the pub.

Some say there is a curse on the old Mayo team. I think it is true . There is only one old Mayo player left.

In 1951,1950 and 1936 they are the years Mayo won the All Ireland.

I hope Mayo win this year because they got to the All Ireland final so many times and did not win. So this year they are going to win!

Everyone knows now the teams in the final. The whole country of Ireland is waiting in excitement for the moment those Mayo/Dublin players walk on the pitch in Croke Park.

I really hope that Mayo win as it has been 65 years since Sam was in Mayo. I heard Tipperary people saying they have been waiting six years for Liam Mc carthy, and they thought 6 years was long!

I hope Mayo wins as Dublin has won many times too much. I think ‘Man of the match’ will be Lee Kegan or Barry Moran. I predict the score will be 2-11 to 2-14 to Mayo.

People say that there is a curse on the team from the last time they won (1951) to not win Sam untill all the players from back then have died. (I dont know what to believe.)

I’m going to Dublin to watch the match in my cousin’s house, as the search continues for those hard-to-get tickets!
