We have a very good girls’ team for our school. On our team there is Shannon, Lisa, Ailish, Ava and myself. Our subs are Roisin, Sophie, Shauna and Rosaleen and they all all good. I play in goal, Shannon plays in midfield forward, Lisa plays the same place as Shannon and Ailish plays in backs and she is a really good player.
We are in the final now against Pullathomas. They are our neighbours and they are good too! I’m really excited for the final on Tuesday next.

Today, the 29th of April, We are going to Dublin. Four of us are going to the Google Studios in Dublin for the Eircom Junior Spider Internet Awards.

We are on the train now! We are having so much fun! We are really excited, (especially Ava). We had to get up really really early this morning. It is worth it though. We only have a few more stops before we get to Dublin. Then we will go straight to the Google Studios!

Every once and a while a man comes around and stamps our tickets. We have past through a lot of places now! Such as Castlebar, Manulla, Claremorris, Ballyhaunas, Castlerea, Roscommon, Athlone, Clara, and Tullamore.

We can’t wait until we get to Google!

Tóraíocht Ubh Chásca le Mata – Easter Egg Maths Hunt le Rosaleen agus Sophie

Easter Egg Maths Hunt!!!

Today we did an Easter egg maths hunt with Múinteoir Mairín and Múinteoir Lorraine. Our team was Róisín, Niall and myself. The hunt was all about maths but it was fun.

First you had to get 4 maths questions correct. Straight away we got a clue it said “Go to a place where you get your environmentally friendly water”, so then we thought about the water butt. We ran outside, around the school and to the water butt there we found 3 small Easter eggs, wrapped in crepe paper. We quickly put them in the bag and got back to work again.

In no time again we had the next 4 questions correct. The next clue was “Go to the thermometer that no longer tells the correct temperature”. So we went to the old thermometer on the window sill and there, at the back, were 3 small chocolate eggs!

The last 4 questions were left. They were harder than the rest but still we got them. The last clue was to get the map. So we got the map from Múinteoir Lorraine and there we set off to look for the last 3 eggs. In no time we found them behind a pipe. We had finished! We got 3 Easter eggs each and they were lovely and it was REALLY fun.😃

Today we did a Easter Hunt.We were in groups. In my group, there was Ailish, Grace and myself. First, we had to answer four maths questions and then we got a clue of where our Easter Egg was. My team was the pink team there was some hard questions in it but we got through it.

We answered the questions but then the teacher had to check them to see if they were right. If they were not right we would have to try again. Eventually we’d got our first clue. The clue was in a little plastic Egg. It was in the Red Tulip then we had todo another four questions to get another clue there was three Eggs

Then we had to estimate how long the distance from the front door to the gate was. Then we had to measure it. We got 9 metres. The next thing was we had to estimate was how much water would the bottle hold.We estimated 750 but the real mesurment was 800mls. We were very close.

We got our second clue. It was near the book shelf in the corridor. We looked through the book shelf and we found it wrapped in a purple wrapper. We had to get a map to get the final egg. On the map, there was a map of the school. the last clue was in the shelter on the table.

I really enjoyed the Easter Hunt and next year we might be doing another one with the younger children.
