Sods of turf in Inver National School

Today everyone brought in sods of turf to school. We felt we had gone back in time by about a hundred years to the time when every student had to bring a sod of turf to school. But no- we hadn’t gone back in time! Instead we were bringing in contributions for the packages we were going to send to our partner schools in our Learning Circles project. We had to send items that were inexpensive but special to our area. We thought that by sending clods of turf to our partners in New Jersey, Washington, Katmandu, New Brunswick and Tartarstan that we could show the fuel that we all use to heat our homes all year long. We also sent them some Irish sweets and information about our schools. See https://sninbhear.edublogs.org/learning-circle-2012/ to find our more about our Learning Circles Project.
