😎😎The month of February-Junior Room😎😎

This month we read some lovely stories- ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears, The Smartest Giant in Town’ and ‘Spring is Here.’  We also learned the nursery rhymes-‘Old McDonald’s had a Farm’ and ‘There were Ten in the Bed’ and the poem ‘February Promises.’

In Gaeilge, the children worked on the topic of An Aimsir and began Eadaí.  They also learned the poem ‘Sneachta.’

In SESE we worked on Saint Bridget, the snail, France, designing and making towers, Walt Disney and the homes of people in different countries.

The children made beautiful Valentine’s art, pancakes and spring flowers. To celebrate Pancake Tuesday we all had some yummy pancakes with our favourite topping😋

This month we concentrated on Money in Maths.  The boys and girls loved playing shops and taking turns being the shopkeepers and the customers.

We are continuing to work on the Fit4Class programme and are really enjoying the lessons.

We were delighted to have a member of the Coding Ireland team visit our school and delivered an engaging STEM workshop on Scratch Jnr. The children learned how to use ScratchJr to create their own characters, animate them, and bring their ideas to life through coding.  A fantastic fun and engaging session.

Ryan O’Donoghue visited our classroom and the boys and girls were lucky enough to get a photograph with him.

This month the children learned the song ‘Killeagh’.’  Below is a little video showing their fabulous voices👏
