25 Volunteer Award for Eve

Congratulations to our Eve on receiving her 25 Volunteer t shirt at Erris Park run. Eve is the first junior parkrunner in Erris to receive this award. When she is not volunteering, Eve is busy running, having completed 63 runs in total to date! An amazing achievement! Eve is pictured with Erris Parkrun director Padraig Brogan. If you fancy a fun, sociable feel good event that will raise your heart rate, join Eve, her sister Lucy and her mum at Cross lake every Saturday @ 9:30am. Happy hearts!

February 12

Active Flag Update

The Daily Mile initiative is still up and running. On rainy days, however, running/exercise takes place within the classroom, so as to avoid unnecessary illnesses.

Each class is currently undertaking the ‘Active break Every Day challenge’ for the month of February. Both classrooms are making wonderful efforts to incorporate a running, dance and exercise break into each day. Check out www.gonoodle.com or ‘Brain breaks’ on Youtube to get an idea of what we do to wake up our bodies and minds! A

For one week in March (TBC) ,each child will track their own physical activity, using a special chart. The aim of this activity is to encourage children to accumulate at least 60 mins of moderate to vigourous intensity physical activity daily. I ask you to please encourage/join your child in this exercise and sign chart when week is complete.
Anyone interested in helping out with supervising a skipping challenge,
please let me know.

February 4

Active break challenge

We are excited about our commitment to incorporate multiple exercise breaks into our daily routines. We have always been very good at doing exercise breaks to reinvigorate our bodies and minds but for the month of February, we aim to get 3 varied exercise breaks into our day. If you fancy trying out some of our dance breaks, check out the following example of brain breaks by the Learning Station. Plenty of fun promised!something all the family can do together!
