A little look back on a busy term!

Congratulations to Oran and Oisín who were our Dart League finalists, with Oran emerging victorious in the end. A great final! Well done to all the boys and girls for taking part and encouraging each other throughout! D . Tyrrell

A huge thank you to the Kilcommon players and management who came to visit our school. We are very proud of them and wish them all the best in their next match against Cheathru Rua 🤞👍👍

Below is some pictures from the month of October.

In English, the children worked on the following stories: ‘The Gruffalo,’ ‘The Hidden Forest,’ Handa’s Surprise’ and ‘Room on the Broom.’

We learned the poem ‘Five Little Pumpkins and Junior Infants worked on ‘Twinkle Twinkle’ and Three Blind Mice.’

The children are working very well on their handwriting and mark making as well as their Phonological Awareness and Phonics.  We studied Narrative Writing as well as capital letters and full stops.

In Gaeilge, we work on An Scoil agus Oíche Shamnha agus learned the poem ‘Púca, Púca.’

We enjoyed learning our football skills with Múinteoir Míchael as well as working on the strand of Athletics as well as the Rinka workshop.

In Art, we created fabulous Halloween clay pots, paper plate pumpkins and drawing the witch from ‘Room on the Broom.’

We also really enjoyed completing activities based on Halloween in both Music and Drama.  We especially loved the song ‘All in the Middle of the Night.’

September has gone by in a whirl! A few photos from the month.

A huge well done to the senior room boys and girls who took part in the National School Hurling blitz in Cill Chomain GAA Club on Friday.  The boys finished 3rd in their group and the girls won the Mary Linnane Shield. Everyone played really well and had a great day. Thank you very much to G.D. Plant Hire and Pat Neary Formwork who sponsored our new jerseys. We think the new jerseys brought us good luck👌
