Learning Circle

Over the last few weeks we have begun a project called Learning Circles project. The project is about sending packages to schools about our country. The schools we are sending the packages to are: New Brunswick in Canada, Seattle in Washington, Katmandu in Nepal, Teaneck in New Jersey, Tartastan in Russia. The first package we sent was a survey about our school and we sent it to each school we are doing are Learning Circles with. The second package we sent included Irish things that the other schools dont have in their country. There was a clod of turf,Irish sweets,an Irish traditional music CD,a page explainging what turf is and leaflets about our area. We are really enjoying our Learning Circles project and I hope we learn a lot from it.

Package from Canada

A few weeks ago we started a project with schools all over the world. The first part of the project we had to do was send a welcome package about our country. Yesterday we got our first package from Canada. In the package there was a lot of stickers of Canada, a map of there community, a chocolate 1 dollar coin, tattoos and a few letters about Canada. I am really enjoying our project with schools and I can’t wait for the next part project.

Peil Gaelic

Well done to both the boys and the girls team who played against Ceathrú thaidgh today. Unfortunately our boys team were beaten but they put up a great fight in the horrendous weather. Our girls team won their game having displayed some very good team work up front. Well done to all!

Reading blitz

We are doing a reading blitz with Múinteoir Lorraine. We all get our sheet signed every night by a Parent/Gurdian and if its signed you get a star.If you do not get it signed you do not get a star. When you finish your book you can change it. If you don’t finish your book you write it down on the signature sheet. You have to read the book for fifteen minutes to get a signature. If you want to, you can read on but you don’t get another signature. When we have five stars, we get a special pencil. After eight, we are getting a special surprise. We get a homework pass after ten stars and a badge after twelve.
We like reading with our Parents/Guardian. Reading is our favourite hobby and if you like reading then get out there and start reading. For example you could read JK Rowling, Jaquiline Wilson, Jeff Kenny, Tanya Landman, Hollly Web because we like them. And there’s lots more books you can think of.
