The French Revolution ~ Réabhlóid na Fraince

Bhí na gnáthdhaoine sa Fhrainc an-bhocht timpeall agus 1789. Bhí cáin mór le h-ioc acu agus ní raibh i neart bia acu. Ag an am céana, bhí an rí, Louis XVI agus a bhean, Marie Antoinette, agus a gcairde, an-saibhir ar fad. Bhí na gnáthdhaoine ag eirí an-chrosta.
Ar deireadh, shocraigh ar na gnáthdhaoine an Bastille a ionsadh. Ghabh siad an Bastille, lig siad saor na príosúnaithe agus fuair siad go leor gunnaí. Bhí an reabhlóid tosaithe. Mharaigh na daoine bochta na mílte doaine uasal…agus an rí agus Marie Antoinette. Bhain siad úßáid as an gilitín. Glaotar Ré an Uafáís ar an am seo.
Bunaíodh rialtas nua sa Fhrainc ag an am sin agus bhí Liberté, Equalité et Fraternité mar mhana acu.

Girl’s Cumann na mBunscoil County Quarter Final

Well done to the Inver girls who put up a good fight against the Mount Palmer girls yesterday. Unfortunately our opponents were stronger on the day but we are all so proud of them for having gotten this far in the competition.

Best of luck to our boy’s team who go up against Carn next Monday at the new pitch in Tallagh. The game is expected to start @ 11 am

Over the past five weeks, Michael Fitzmaurice has taken the children on Friday afternoons for a fitness and coordination session. The children thoroughly enjoyed the various activities and look forward to hopefully working with Michael again in the future!

Our Visit from Laura

We had lots of fun with Laura from An Taisce. We did a little puppet show and we learned why it is important to keep our rivers and oceans clean. We are trying really hard to keep our school nice and tidy too.

My First Holy Communion

On Sunday I did my First Holy Communion. We had lots of things to do before the big day. We had to do prayers and do lots of practices. Liam did it as well. My Mom’s friend came up and did my hair. When it was finished it was lovely. Then I put on my dress and Mom said I looked fantastic. When I went to the church, my teacher said I looked fabulous. After mass we took lots of pictures. Then we all went to the community centre and had lots of yummy sweets. After we went to Gateway and Liam went to the hotel. We had a great day.

Active Schools Week is one week where we do lots of games to keep active, and loads of activities.

We do lots of different things each day like soccer, rounders, circuits and basketball.

The benefits of Active Schools Week are being fit and active. Also we are trying to get our 2nd active flag. I am on the Active Schools Team.

I am really looking foward to the rest of the week. I love being active and healthy.

Active schools week is about being active. Today we did circuits and it was cool.

We played soccer and rounders yesterday and we played circuits and basketball today.

It is important to keep fit so you can have a healthy heart.

I also try to eat fruit instead of sweets and that would be another benefit to my health.

I love active week cant wait for next year when we do it I wonder what we will do next year. 🙂 :):)

Active Schools week is a week full of activities. We have lots of fun playing games.
On Monday we had a soccer blitz and a game of rounders. We lost the soccer. The score was 4-3 to Eoin’s team. The rounders was great! Nobody won becuase it was just for fun.

Today we played circuits. It was very good, there was weights, hula hoops, yoga matsand lots of other things. My favourite was the balance board.

We also played basketball today I was on team A. Ava, Caolan, Erin, Siobhan, Danny and I were on my team.

Tomorrow there is Unihoc and Orieteering I love Unihoc. It’s awesome! And orienteering is good but I can’t remember what to do in it.

Active schools week is important because it keeps you fit and healthy.
