Inné bhí muid ag imirt peile in aghaidh Pul a t-Somais í bpairc Cill tSéana. An cluiche leath cheannais. Bhuaigh muid an cluiche 11-2 ar 2-2 Bhí muid nios lairde na an bhfoireann eile. Bhi na cailiní ag imirt in aghaidh Gleann a Muaidhe. Bhuaigh siad an cluiche 3-3 ar 2-2. Beidh muid (na buachaillí) ag imirt in aghaidh Ceathrú Thaidhg. Ta muid ag tnuth leis an cluiche ceannais.

Bhí na buachilli agus na cailiní ag imirt peile innie.Bhí na cailini in aghaidh Gleann na Muaidhe.Bhí an cliuche go HIONTACH!!!! Bhuaigh na Cailini 3-3 ar 2-2.Bhí mé ag imirt le na buachilli.Bhí muid ag imirt in aghaidh Pol a t-Somais.Bhí an cluiche thar barr.Fuair mé 4 cúl. Bhí an scór 11-2 ar 2-2.

Bhí sceitimíní athas ar gach duine.

Let’s take a trip to Norway ~ Turas go dtí An Iorua

Tar linn go dtí an Iorua. Is feidir leat do thuras féin a shocrú thíos. Tá an Iorua an fhuar agus tá sé suite i dtuaisceart na hEorpa. Glaotar Tír Ghrian an Mheán Oíche air mar bíonn an ghrian ag taitneamh ar feadh an lae agus ar feadh na hoíche oíche i rith an tsamhraidh.
Let’s take a trip to Norway. You can guide your own flight below. Norway is a very cold country, situated in the north of Europe. It is called The Land of the Midnight Sun because it is bright all day and night long throughout the summer.

Saving water

Today the 22nd of April, Laura, from Green Schools came to our school. First she talked to the green schools committee in the spare room

After they talked she went into the small children until break. After break she came up to us 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th. First Laura showed us a PowerPoint on the laptop. It was about water evaporation, waste and where we get our water. It was interesting. It was about the water cycle.

After that we watched a video about animals abroad. It showed us why we should not throw rubbish in the sea. If the animals will eat the rubbish and die soon. It was sad to watch.

Then we made cleaning soaps. We made cleaning stuff for the windows and tables. Then we washed the tables and windows. After we did it you could really see a shine. Finally we made a hand scrub. It was really lumpy on your hands but when you wash it off, your hands are really smooth.

I really enjoyed the. I can’t wait till the next time!!!

Conserving water

Today Laura came to our school. She talked about saving water and about polluting water. We tried to think of ten ways we could be polluting Carramore Lake, we only got eight.

We made window cleaner, hand gel and table cleaner from natural ingredince. The recipe for them is really simle. When we made our liquids she put us into groups to try them out. Orla, Shauna and me tried out the window cleaner. We cleaned the staff room window.It was really fun.

She showed us little videos about saving water. There were really funny videos and sad ones too. I had lots of fun with Laura and I really hope she came again because she has lots of fun things to do with us. 🙂 :):)

Today Laura from an Taisce came to our school see how we are getting on saving our water.

First she brought all the water committee into the middle room for a meeting. We were talking about all the ways we save water. we save water in all different ways like we have water saving flushers and taps and a water butt for collecting rain water.

Then after lunch she came into are classroom and explained how important it is to save water and keep the environment clean. Then she showed us a video about some birds who ate plastic and when they died and rotted away you could see all the plastic inside it. It was very interesting.

After that we made some all propose spray cleaner and some window cleaner using natural ingredients. We made the spray cleaner out of washing up liquid, baking soda and some water.

I had a good day with Laura.

Water Conservation with Laura

Today Laura came to talk to us about water. First she showed us a list to keep water clean and the water cycle.

Second we watched two videos the first one was about plastic that birds ate and they died.The second one was called How the animals save the planet.They were really funny.

After that we made window polish.It was fun and we even got to clean the windows!Then Laura made some hand scrub.It was weird.

I had great fun today.

Today a woman called Laura came to our school. She is from the Green Schools committee and she came to talk about water pollution and the environment.

We learned more about the water cycle and also she showed us a clip of a movie that shows how water pollution can damage animals lives.

We also made environmentally friendly window cleaner. 5th and 6th made an all-purpose cleaner. 5th and 6th cleaned their desks and me and my friends,Ailish and Rosaleen, washed the staff rooms window.

We also made environmentally friendly honey, sugar and lemon hand scrub. We all made one together. Our hands were really smooth after it.

I really enjoyed Laura’s visit. I hope she comes again soon!

Water conservation on World Earth Day

Today Laura came in to talk about water with us. Laura works for Green Schools, so she knows lots of things about water and energy.

First she brought she brought the water team into the middle room to have a meeting. Caolan, Leanne, Niall, Amy & I are one the team. We talked about how we save water. I took the notes. We talked for a while then we went back into the classroom.

Then we went over the water cycle again. After that we made a few things. 3rd and 4th made window cleaners. 5th and 6th made multi- purpose spray. I don’t know if the spray good because we were in the office cleaning the window, but 5th and 6th washed the tables and they were clean enough. Then we all made hand scrub, it felt awful but when you wash it off your hands smell lovely and feel so soft.

I really enjoyed my day. I wish Laura would come everyday. And let’s hope my mom use our cleaners tonight!!!

Ailish

Today Laura came into our school. She talks to us about water. Laura came in twice a few months ago. We have lots of fun with her.

Firstly we talked about water. She was showing us a slide show of many things like the Water Cycle, Rivers and Water Poulletion. Plastic is bad for water as is Oil and dumping things. She also showed us that there is grass in the water and is not good.

A few minutes later we watched a video it was kind of sad it was called ‘Midway’. Its about an Island in the Pacific Ocean, Its where all the rubbish goes. All the birds were eating the plastic making them sick.

After that we made some things. 5th and 6th made All Purpose Spray Cleaner. We got a bottle and put baking soda, Oil, Liquid and warm water. Then we shook it and tested it. It was really good. After that we made Honey and Lemon hand scrub. It was made out of out of Sugar, Salt, Oil, Lemon and a scent of Lemon. Laura mixed it together and we put it on. Then we washed it and dried it. My hands were really clean and smooth.

I had a really fun day with Laura and i hope she comes back.

Digital Art Week 2013

This week all our class has been doing Digital Art on the laptops. Digital Art Week at www.digitalartweek.com is an event where you enter a picture that you make on the laptop. I (Ali) did mine with Erin on Kid Pix which is a software on our laptop that you can create pictures with. Me (Leanne)and Rosaleen did a picture on a website called Weaving, it’s really cool. Our picture was a photo of the sky with the sun, clouds and lots of birds. We enjoyed doing these pictures.
We are also doing a digital art treasure hunt where we follow clues every day on Twitter to discover some famous paintings and artists. It’s great fun.

Victory over Scoil Bhríde

Well Done to both the boys and girls team for their wonderful display of teamwork against Scoil Bhríde Ballycroy today. The finishing scores were as follows;

Keeping active

The boys and girls who play football won a match today against Scoil bríde.We are very proud of them.
While they were gone my classroom went outside and played lots of activites at break.
We are trying so hard to get our active flag. We play games like dogeball, football,lions den(tag) and we also play skipping.
Our favourite game to play is hom pom. There is alot of running in the game.

Yesterday Eve Deane ran a full mile in Dublin. Her sister Lucy also ran the full mile.Today they came in and we took a picture of there medals . The run was called the great Ireland run. They were very happy after the run.
We got some new equipment last week. This is equipment for individual or team games.
We all like the equipment and we are looking forward to playing with it another day.
I keep active as well. I go to training on Sundays.I love going to trainings on Sunday. But last Sunday I did not go because it was lashing rain.
